This is normally based on discussions with some team members and inferences about them and others. This process doesn’t provide concrete answers and mostly leaves due diligence teams with high levels of uncertainty and concern.
From experience Optima (and with us Investors) has learnt that the best way to assess the ability of a team is during a workshop. If the team doesn’t have the ability or potential to succeed, the cost of the workshop is far less than what the Investor would lose if they continued with the investment, and if the team turns out to be of quality they have already completed their first formal learning. This is an excellent way for Investors to mitigate the risks related to the abilities of the new Investment Team.
In a similar way Optima could do a skills audit or training needs analysis for Fund- or Facility managers or Investment Teams.
For business leaders and partners, audits and assessments are available to ensure effective diagnosis and analysis to support and enhance the learning and development for both individuals and groups and to ensure our input and facilitation meets required needs and specific outcomes.
